Here we go!

Here we go! The cover contest submissions are now uploaded -- I hope I didn't miss anyone (if your entry is not listed, it's because I didn't receive it).

It's very simple. Vote for your favorite cover for each project in the individual project's comment section. If you want to go so far as to explaining why you like a particular cover, that's fine too.
Ultimately I reserve the right to choose the winning cover, but I am genuinely interested in your voting choices.

The covers are anonymous to keep the voting process objective. However, once the voting is in and covers have been chosen, I will list the names of all the artists who took part (unless instructed otherwise).

Before anyone votes though, I just want to say how really impressed I was by the variety and originality of the covers. I have enjoyed opening my email every day. It's wonderful to see how creative everyone got with this -- some of you were moved to try your very first cover. Some of you are already professional, but you were kind enough to jump in and join in the fun.

I hope you all had fun. I certainly did! **PLEASE NOTE: Just vote once per project. :-)

  1. Oh wow, Josh! All these covers look wonderful! So exciting to see all the different approaches to the same title. :-)

  2. Josh, I don't envy you this job. So many great covers, so many different visions. Thank you again for letting us have this fun. Wanted to mention also, it's kind of tricky to find the submissions for Everything I Know. The other three titles appear with a simple scroll down. To get to Everything I Know you have to find the link on the side bar. I wish every cover could win. :)

    1. I have the same problem with the Everything-I-know-post. I only found it through the link Johanna provided on GR.

    2. Hmm... weird. I don't seem to have these problems (neither with my computer nor iPad). *scratches her head*

    3. Does anyone else have the problem of the blog numbers being different than the filmstrip numbers? In other words, you can not enlarge the first cover in Everything I Know and Slay Ride.

    4. Oh, okay. Now I see what you mean. I manage to enlarge the first covers of Everything I Know and Slay Ride only separately (if that makes sense) but they don't appear in the filmstrip. Those two filmstrips start with the second covers. But there aren't actual numbers anywhere in the filmstrip, are there?

    5. Jeez, I'm slow today. Only now I noticed where the numbers are on that filmstrip... :-)

    6. Yes. When you're viewing the enlarged image, the small thumbnail has the number above it. I noticed this because someone voted for an Everything I Know cover with my cover number, but described a different cover in their explanation. It was the cover directly below mine. I have a feeling the same thing may be happening with Slay Ride votes.

    7. I have a bad feeling that there are too many submissions for blogger to handle. I probably should have broken everything into two posts.

    8. I'll try to view the blogs on different browsers. I can't see it from this one.

  3. Oops...I think a more serious issue. I just discovered when you click an image to see it larger you get an entire filmstrip to scroll to look at each entry. It's nice to see the images side by side too...but there's a problem with Slay Ride. The first cover doesn't show when you click to enlarge and view the filmstrip. So, the numbers of the covers on the filmstrip are different than the numbers listed on the blog. (Am I making sense?)

  4. I just noticed the same problem with Everything I Know. Sorry I could not edit my post above.

  5. Josh,
From my POV, you can only get to the cover submissions of Everything I Know by clicking on the title on the right side bar of your blog or by Johanna's link in Goodreads.

    1. And clicking the "Older Post" link below everyone's comments on Slay Ride cover submission thread, right?

    2. Not for me. When I tried that it took me back to "I Hate Writing."

  6. The one thing I can say about the overall submissions, Josh, is unless you just wish to, you will never have to design another cover. Just turn to your team!

And to all who submitted, I love every single cover. How do we choose?

  7. Crazy. The blog looks fine so far through IE and chrome. Of course I do have a large monitor. Maybe that helps somehow?

    1. Hmm. Interesting. I use Safari. And I have a pretty large monitor (27 inches). And the blog works for me just fine (except the Everything and Slay Ride filmstrip numbers).

About the numbers: Maybe everyone could just use the numbers you listed on the actual blog?

    2. I think that might fix the number issue, Johanna.

I use firefox on my pc and I use an ipad, and had trouble on both. I have a large monitor as well. So strange.

  8. Okay. There is something wrong with that All I Know post. It's a blogger weirdness. I'm probably going to have to redo the entire thing. :-(

    1. Josh, we should revote for Everything I Know since that section is now deleted?

  9. Maybe I have missed something. Where do I go to see the covers? I don't see them on this post.

  10. Okay, I've split the Everything I Know post into two. Not sure what the problem is, but hopefully this fixes it. I think I can still see the earlier votes, so if you did vote, you don't need to revote. But if you weren't able to see the post, go ahead and cast your votes for each section now.

    1. I was thinking you might benefit from the abundance of green beer today. ;)

    2. LOL. You are doing great. And yeah, green beer (or a green cocktail maybe) might be in order. Enjoy your day, Josh! :-)

    3. And may I also add that I've never edited so many of my own posts (and the links in them) on GR as fast as this before. You are really making me work for it, now aren't you. ;-)

  12. Sorry still can't work out where to vote just for Everything I Know so will do so here. No 7 gets my vote. Now just looking forward to publication dates!
